The text Safety is a State of Mind was taken from the side of a tank on display at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC that I visited last summer on a work trip, the day before I had a panic attack. It stuck with me as a perfect anxious person's mantra.
I'm obsessed with the finish on this piece, like a rusted-out hand-painted sign at home in the train yard that inspired it.
This is priced as a second, because the text is not centered well, and the interior liner glaze has a single crack running across the entire piece. While the glazes used are food safe, this pot would be better utilized as a sculptural object or vase.
